2021 Spring Atlantic Coast Showcase
Caleb McDaniel is a 2023 C/IF/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Asheboro, NC who attends Uwharrie Charter Academy. Posted a 7.65 in the 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, started in a high set and worked with compact mechanics. Not a fluid transfer yet but works quickly into a quick short arm throw. Chopped foot work displayed, and not a bad release from the knees. Has time to smooth over his present tools with added strength and greater feel working out of a flexible lower half. Right handed hitter, athletic stance with a high back elbow set to start. Good barrel control, showed some loft in his swing. Bat to ball skills are there, missing some connection with the lower half and hands. Very playable swing with increased physical development, has time to unlock some good potential as he fills out the frame and applies some force. Good student.
