Austen Poling is a 2022 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-3 167 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Boulder Creek. Has tall, lean type frame with potential for added physical strength. Primary RH pitcher.Simple delivery, pitches from the 1B side of the rubber. Has slow, deliberate type mechanics. Throws from 3/4 arm slot. FB has occasional arm side run, tries to locate FB to both sides of the plate, needs to continue to refine FB command. CB has slow 11/5 to 3/4 type action. Around the zone with all pitches, needs to continue to refine overall control & command of all pitches. Also participated in drills in both Infield and outfield, sound sound defensive skills at both positions, showed versatility. Recorded 85 mph throw from the outfield. Right-handed hitter with slightly open stance, holds hands high. Line drive type hitting approach, tries to hit to all fields. Still developing quickness and strength in swing. Good student.
