Sean Vining is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from North Bellmore, NY who attends Wellington C Mepham. Medium, athletic frame with some present strength on frame and additional room to grow and develop moving forward. Ran a 7.18 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving towards the ball on the approach, fields it to the side and works into a clean gather, sound transfer and utilizes an extra step moving into release from an over-the-top slot, tends to get uphill at release, arm strength will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and open stance at the plate with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Loads weight onto backside and can continue to implement additional weight shift moving forward, linear path with hands through the zone and shows bat speed with a compact path. Comfort working to his pull side at point of contact with some line drive carry off of the barrel. Very good student.
