2023 New York Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Andy Briggs is a 2024 C/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Sloatsburg, NY who attends Suffern Senior. Well-built medium frame with good current strength and more to come. Primary position C, working from an offset stance and a bit high in his legs. Aggressive actions with stiffer glove work as he gets to a good midline transfer before throwing. Over the top arm action with longer actions that showed throws up to 66 mph and generated a pop-time best of 2.08 on the bag. Quick feet with real potential if he gets more efficient in transition. Also took reps in the OF, sitting back on the ball and presenting glove off to the side. Abbreviated crow hop to deep transfer as he uses one-piece type arm action to throws back to the infield. Saw throws up to 73 mph here. RHH working with a wider stance and an even base, well balanced in his legs. High back elbow with good handset and a flat bat path to impact. Small, controlled stride keeping him on time and allowing him to use the whole field. Showed solid feel for the barrel, line drive oriented stroke and was consistent at contact. Good strength in hands and ball gets off his bat pretty quickly. Tremendous student as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
