Eli Small is a 2023 C/OF with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Elkhorn South Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, quick actions and footwork coming out of the crouch, longer but quick release and overall athleticism plays in fundamentals, big arm strength and carry on throws down to second base; will continue to refine actions from outfield, fields with two hands out front, shorter arm stroke, big arm strength on throws, long release. Left-handed hitter, begins with a spread and open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Works on a linear path through the zone following launch, occasionally gets downward, implements physical strength well and shows present power to pull side with jump when squared, remains compact with swing and shows quickness to the barrel through the zone. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Kentucky.
