Ryan Cooney is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Portland, OR who attends Jesuit HS. Recorded a 6.94 second 60-yard dash time. Square shoulders with good length to the frame and lots of room to add strength. Primary shortstop who fields out in front with two hands. Good carry out of the hand with quality accuracy. Really smooth actions and shows easy lateral agility. Clean glove movements to either side and controls his body very well. Throws recorded up to 86 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open stance, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Shorter to the ball and creates separation. Smooth swing plane and works deep fly balls to both gaps. Strong wrists with a middle of the field approach. Tremendous student. Verbal commitment to Oregon.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
