2022 National Underclass West Showcase
Landen Sawyer is a 2023 C/ with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Simi Valley, CA who attends Simi Valley. Recorded a 7.62 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, compact frame with some lean muscle throughout and plenty of projection remaining. Primary catcher that receives from a side-saddled stance with soft hands and a quick mid-line transfer. Gains ground out of the crouch quickly, staying in-line with his target efficiently. Recorded arm strength up to 70 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wide, open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and a negative leg lift trigger. Hands driven stroke with direct hand path and some present hand speed. Middle-of-the field approach with good separation and some lift to his swing. Fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills with occasional line drive impact. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
