Giovanni Liburdi is a 2025 C/RHP/MIF/OF with a 5-6 145 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Higley. Young, square shouldered frame with a high waist and a lean build with room to fill moving forward. Ran an 8.31 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, starts low in set up behind the plate, gets tall during drills, shows some quickness to transfer, shorter arm action on throws, replaces feet well, can implement additional lower half into release, actions project. Moves well in the outfield, shows accuracy on throws, refined mechanics will aid in carry; moves well in the infield as well, with lateral quickness, softness to hands, arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, big side step moving into delivery, higher leg lift up past belt wiht some gather on backside, up-tempo pace; shorter arm action through the back. Works quickly, mostly true fastball up to 70 mph, flashes running life, mixed in a 12-6 curveball up to 58 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, simple mechanics at the plate, limited shift through lower half moving into contact. Keep hands inside the ball, bat speed projects with added strength, worked contact around to all parts of the field.
