Tanner Krist is a 2020 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Valley. Athletic build with present strength. Ran a 7.31 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary infielder. Displayed low out front funnels with confident glove actions working through the baseball. Displayed clean footwork while working to and through the ball to go along with good range while working to both sides of the infield as well. Showed clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 82 mph across the infield. Right handed hitter. Employs a wide stance with a low hand set. Showed a long bat path to the baseball with good bat speed through the zone. Displayed a middle of the field approach with the ability to create consistent line drives and ground balls when on time and squared. Also pitched. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound. Lands online with the plate and stays online through finish. Flashed a compact arm action in the back going to a mid three-quarter slot at release with good arm speed. features a two pitch mix including a fastball with good feel for the zone up to 78 mph and a 11/5 breaking ball with shorter depth at 68 mph.
