Ashton Lucio is a 2024 OF/RHP, SS with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Frenship. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, graded out best on the mound in this look; side step start moving into a higher leg lift up past belt, slight gather on backside and shows rhythm to delivery. Long arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release, fastball topped out at 76 mph, mostly true in life with occasional cut action. Works on top of the fastball, short 11-5 shape to curveball, tends to slow arm prior to release and flashed fading life to changeup at 66 mph. Moves well to the ball int he outfield, utilizes a crow hop with an extra step moving through release, similar long arm action, some bend at waist. Fields the ball out front in the infield, higher slot on throws, opens front side early at times, shows ability to throw on the run. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow with an even stance; patient approach at the plate with an upper body dominant swing. Longer stride moving into contact, linear path through the zone and swings with intent, shows jump off the barrel when squared, bat speed will continue to develop with added strength.
