2023 WWBA Workout Showcase (Wed)
Jake Downie is a 2026 MIF/2B, OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Glenmoore, PA who attends Downingtown West Campus. Medium frame with a lean current build and wiry strength with time to grow. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.19 seconds. Primary position IF, moving around pretty good on his feet and displaying solid lateral range. Emerging glove work, securing the ball and got a bit feely on the backhand side. Arm strength and accuracy is still ahead of him as he showed throws up to 73 mph a bit scattered across the diamond. LHH working from a wide stance and using a hanging leg lift to get on time. Tight handset, in front of body and uses a small load pre-pitch. When on time the ball jumped a bit but the bat path would get a bit inverted putting a lot of air under the ball. Young athlete with the full compliment of tools and with strength and refinement will be a real prospect to follow. Outstanding student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
