Miguel Perez is a 2024 C/IF, OF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Baldwin Park, CA who attends Bishop Amat. Recorded a 7.84 second 60 yard dash time. Medium frame and stocky build. Primary catcher with a square stance, catches and then stands straight up to throw. Transfer at the chest, works around the ball, accurate throws at 63 mph, developing strength. Doesn't get the shoulder turned towards the target, will improve as he gains ground with his footwork and stays low throughout. Right-handed hitter with a narrow stance and a high hand and back elbow set. Hands drop below the shoulder on the load, upwards swing path with a long and high finish. Limited rhythm, leans on the back side, will improve as he uses the lower half more actively and drives the back hip forward. Great student.
