Joseph Talas is a 2025 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Peoria, AZ who attends Sunrise Mountain. Big and strong broad shouldered build, stands out physically. Right handed hitter, hits from a tall stance and moves into his swing well, swing is short and direct for his size and he repeats his timing well, pretty simple approach, barreled the ball up consistently in batting practice and in the games with middle of the field line drive contact, projects very well as a hitter. 7.76 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has good agility and body life for the position along with plenty of arm strength, turns well on throws to second and can throw from multiple arm slots, can soften up his hands as his next defensive step. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a medium length arm action in back and good extension out front. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with good downhill angle, also threw a hard curveball with some promise. Interesting athlete with a ceiling, especially on offense.
