Gavin Trahan is a 2023 C/RHP with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Lafayette, LA who attends Teurlings Catholic. Flashed a medium to large frame with stocky build and already filling out lower half with some athletic tendencies. Ran a 7.65 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher starting from a side saddle position catching the baseball with two hands. Gains ground on the throw down with a quick release showing to be accurate around the bases. Secondary Righthanded Pitcher working quickly wasting no time or energy. Starts on firstbase side of the rubber before showing a shorter arm action delivering from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fluid delivery with repeatable mechanics as he followed through to the plate. Righthanded hitter starting with a closed off front foot from a balanced stance. Bat wrap over the helmet before flashing some bat speed. Uphill swing getting weight out on front foot at times. Middle to opposite field approach looking to lift the baseball. Outstanding Student.
