Eugenio Mastandrea is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 5-6 152 lb. frame from Floral Park, NY who attends Floral Park Memorial. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.70 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, works out of the stretch, starts turned towards the plate, high leg lift with a deep gather on backside, compact arm action through the back and strides closed with strike foot, works to a higher slot at release. Fastball topped out at 66 mph, mostly true in life with occasional running actions to it. Showed a curveball with some depth at 56 mph, flashed a changeup up to 61 mph. Fields the ball out front at first base, stays short and compact with arm action, looseness to it, young footwork and will continue to refine overall mechanics, accurate throws. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide and open stance, high hand set and back elbow in the box. Limited shift through lower half, best when working on a linear path through the zone, occasionally gets uphill with plane. Loads hands back at start of swing, comfort working to pull side and gets the barrel out front.
