Maddox O'Connor is a 2024 3B/RHP/SS with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Southeast Polk. Recorded a 7.22 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame and sturdy build with strength present. Primary third baseman with soft hands and good feel for the glove. Shows smooth footwork with good feel for the position overall, has some twitch to his actions and can make plays on the move. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a short and compact arm action that comes through clean. Works with good tempo and has some jump out of the hand, is explosive on the mound. Arm is quick and he keeps everything simple and compact, fastball has some run to it. Developing consistency with the secondaries, flashed a curveball with 12-6 shape with he stays on top of it. Also featured a solid changeup with late fade. Right-handed hitter with an even stance and even hand set, utilizes a no stride trigger. Very simple and quiet operation overall but produces leverage from it. Can elevate and has pop to the pull side, drove a couple of flyballs to the fence during his round. Has pieces to like and projects moving forward. Solid, all-around prospect with two-way potential. Good student. Named to the 2022 Fall Midwest Workout Showcase Top Prospect List.
