Grant Sheppard is a 2026 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL who attends Bishop John J. Snyder. A taller frame and a bigger build. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who had an open base during his throws with a jump out of the crouch, throwing from a higher slot. Has some trunk tilt through release with one-hop accuracy around the bag at second. Threw 78 mph and produced a 2.00 pop time. Also worked out as an infielder with throws coming out at 84 mph, throwing from a higher slot. Moved fine up the middle with some length to the frame showing. A right-handed hitter with a wider base to start as he sets up. He works through the zone with an uphill finish. Showed some strength off the barrel at times as well during his round of BP. Produced an 86 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Also took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher who worked from the wind-up with a side-step into a leg lift just above the belt. He works from a higher over the top arm slot with some downhill plane to his pitches. Has a longer arm stroke through release. Heavy barrage of fastballs early on working 77-80 mph. He showed a breaking ball at 64 mph with depth below the zone and a 12-6 look to it. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
