Camden Knutson is a 2024 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Tulsa, OK who attends Union. A lean frame with longer levers throughout the build. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder who worked out at the position, moving well throughout the round. He threw from a three-quarters arm slot and was accurate across the field with throws at 84 mph. His footwork was good and controlled, and he had snatchy hands overall. Had some arm speed through release as well. Softer hands worked with the glove, and he stayed low throughout the actions. A very fundamentally sound round. A switch hitter. As a right-handed hitter, he started with an even base, upright in his stance, with deeper hands that were higher with the back elbow up. He uses a big leg lift trigger to get on time. He extended through it well and was able to show off some strength off the barrel. Worked to the pull-side with his swings as a right-hander. One-hopped the wall in left field. Fluid operation; he gets the foot down and turns quickly to launch & leverage. As a left-handed hitter, he uses a similar setup, a little more spread and less narrow than he is as a right-hander, but a similar setup overall. He was quick with the barrel and attacked the pull-side gap once again. He lifted through contact and showed some carry with his swings. Produced some well-struck liners to the pull-side part of the field. Produced an 83 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Added a hit in-game as well. Took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher working from the stretch only. He used a leg lift up to the belt and then worked down the mound with a shorter arm stroke. Created some whip with the quick arm action, releasing from a three-quarters arm slot. The fastball worked up to 83 mph and had some downhill angle on it. Showed an 11-5 shaped curveball in the mix as well, keeping hitters off-balance with the pitch. Mixed in a harder changeup with some depth to it early, showing some depth, but mostly relied on the fastball and curveball. Pretty efficient outing. Excellent student. Named to 2023 Midwest Prospect TP List.
