Mathews Sosa is a 2026 C/OF with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Cape Coral, FL who attends Oasis Charter. A medium frame with physicality to his build & athleticism present. Projectable frame moving forward. Ran a 7.59 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who sets up with open feet with a whippy arm, gaining ground well through the throws. He holds the momentum through release and threw 72 mph down to second with a 2.00 pop time. Quick catch-and-throw with a lot to like in his throwing actions behind the dish. Also worked out as an infielder with two hands out front, a good arm action on throws across at 79 mph, and clean actions all around. Whippy arm actions with solid range up the middle. Quick release and a good exchange. He threw 81 mph from the outfield, working out at the position, fielding it off to the side of himself with good whip through release. Great throws with accuracy to the bag. A right-handed hitter with higher-set hands and a high-back elbow. He gets his weight back and then works through the one with explosive hands and great strength off the barrel at impact. Physical box presence with bat speed to pair. Worked all over the barrel during his round of BP. Hit well in-game too, including a deep drive to left field. Good student. Named to 13u/14u Florida Showcase TP List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
