Zach Rodgers is a 2023 RHP/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Allentown, PA who attends Notre Dame. Recorded a 8.13 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium frame with long limbs and well-proportioned lower half strength. Primary right-handed pitcher with a fairly simple and repeatable delivery. Works from an abbreviated windup with a slightly coiled leg lift, efficient movements down the slope and a shorter stride at foot strike. Fastball worked in the upper-60s for most of his outing, topping out at 71 miles per hour from a low three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with command to both sides of the plate with fastball to the bottom of the zone and flashing some sink when on time and in sync. Secondary offerings are still in the developmental stages with slower breaking ball that varies in shape and disrupts hitters timing. Secondary third baseman with a sound defensive skill set, deliberate footwork into and through the fielding process and well-engaged lower half during the throwing process. Shows developing arm strength from a longer arm action recorded up to 61 miles per hour in drills. Right-handed hitter, upright and narrow stance with high back elbow and toe-tap trigger for timing. Middle-to-opposite field approach with upward swing path and occasional impact to right centerfield. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and physical maturity. Good Student.
