2021 Pitcher/Catcher Showcase
Coda Johnson is a 2024 RHP/MIF, OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Marion. Medium frame with a lean and wiry build and plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher with a simple and repeatable operation, does a good job of staying directional with the plate. Very long and off line arm action, comes from a three-quarters slot. Decent mechanics for his age, knows what he's doing up there and has an idea of how to pitch. Solid breaker with 12/6 shape and tilt, has developing depth. Was around the zone enough during his outing, projects well with added strength and growth. Right-handed hitter with a choppy swing and even base. Limited load and lower half usage, could keep his weight back more. Upper body rotational swing, tends to fly open early. Shows an opposite field approach with developing bat speed. Excellent student.
