Austin Uptain is a 2024 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Athens, AL who attends Athens. Ran a 7.27 second sixty. Primary short stop with some length in the frame to fill out moving forward. Did a nice job on the infield of getting to the spot and working through the ball with proper footwork. The arm strength shows out with east carry across the diamond and an ability to make the throws on the left side of the diamond. The same arm strength stood out on the mound with a fastball in the mid 80's topping out a 85 mph. Uses the lower half well with some drop and drive on the back side coming down the hill while the arm gets to a high three-quarters arm slot. Spun a sharper breaking ball with top to bottom action showing the desired tilt at times . left-handed hitter, starts with. wider base using his leverage and bat speed to drive the ball best to the middle of the field and pull side. Shows flashed of the power now with more to come through added strength as he already shows an efficient swing at present. Good student. Named to the Sunshine Gulf Coast Top Prospects List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
