2023 Deep South Prospect Showcase
Michael Griggs is a 2025 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 225 lb. frame from Baton Rouge, LA who attends Catholic. He ran a 8.13 Sixty Yard Dash. Griggs showed a large athletic frame with some strength throughout. Primary RHP Michael had some effort within his operation with a loose straight over the top arm stroke. He has a hip high leg lift as he creates some momentum down the slope with some downward angle at release. There was some Jerkiness within the delivery creating some deception throughout. The fast showed some heaviness to it as he topped at 84 commanding it well to both sides of the plate working a fast pace. His secondary was a tight 12-6 shaped breaking ball with some late depth that tunneled his fastball well. Secondary first baseman fields the ball clean to the side as he stays back on it. Michael worked with clean transfers and an accurate arm across the diamond. RHH showed a long stroke with some quickness in the barrel. Griggs showed a wider base with a mid leg lift trigger. The hands rotate well into slot as he showed some strength to the pull side. Michael is an excellent student.
