2006 Mid-Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Skyler Barnett is a 2008 C/1B that attends Unicoi County HS and resides in Erwin, TN with a 6'1", 180 lb. frame. Skyler has a well-developed athletic build with good present strength in his body. At the plate Skyler has good bat speed and shows some solid line-drive contact. Skyler's swing can get a little long at times and he has a tendency to dip his shoulder. He will need to shorten his swing path and work on keeping his back shoulder up. Behind the plate Skyler has a strong arm with clean actions. He will really need to work on his release and transfer. Skyler is a player that should attract the attention of many smaller colleges.
