AJ Simmons is a 2022 OF/RHP, SS with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Fort Worth, TX who attends Keller Central. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.15 seconds. Hits from slightly spread stance with leg lift trigger, loads hands back, quality bat speed coming through, showed the ability to leverage the ball, drove a double up the gap in game. Primary outfielder, comes in on the ball well, fields cleanly and gets off good release, clocked up to 75 mph. Also took infield reps, easy movements to both sides, hands work, up to 72 mph on throws. Also pitched, smooth mechanics, high three quarters slot, fastball worked 69-75 mph with good plane to the plate, mixed in a curveball with some shape and depth to it. Good student.
