2022 Pitcher / Catcher Indoor Showcase
Michael Clarkson is a 2023 C/RHP/1B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Lake Forest, IL who attends Loyola Academy. He has a large frame with present strength and physicality. Primary catcher that starts in a wide and even base. He does a nice job of staying in line with the base and covering ground towards second. He showed nice arm strength in his throws and releases from a lower arm angle. He has quick hands and feet, allowing him to throw the ball quickly. In game he showed smooth actions in receiving and blocking. He can handle velocity and does a nice job of sticking the pitch and not letting the ball drag his glove. Secondary right-handed pitcher that uses a quick knee to chest leg kick. He has a long and offline arm action and throws from a 3/4 slot. He has a loose arm that is quick through his motion and allows him to generate a ton of arm side run on his fastball. He pairs this fastball with a short slider with horizontal cut and some sinking action. Right-handed hitter that has a medium base and uses a simple stride for timing. He has a rotational swing that is consistently on balance. He showed plenty of bat speed through the zone that caused the ball to jump off his bat. He has a simple line drive approach and works the gaps well. Named to the Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
