Waylon Collins is a 2022 2B/RHP/SS with a 5-6 142 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Tomball. Smaller frame with plenty of time to fill out and add strength. Primary middle infielder with a calm, controlled approach, clean funnel out in front and soft hands. Uses lower half well, exhibiting quick transfer and developing arm strength up to 76 MPH across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher; simple, repeatable mechanics with confidence in his current arsenal, showing ability to command both halves of the plate. Fastball worked in the upper-60s from a 3/4 's slot, topping out at 71 MPH in this look while displaying a developing feel for spin that will come with maturity and added arm strength. Right-handed hitter; simple operation with a slightly open stance, leg lift trigger and rotational lower half mechanics. Middle-of-the field approach with compact, downhill swing path, consistent bat-to-ball skills and line drive impact when on time. Pretty sound fundamentally with plenty of projection remaining.
