2021 National Underclass East Showcase
Fran Abdiel Montanez Rosario is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Manati, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Taller and high waisted frame with broad shoulders and a physical presence. Ran a 7.34 in the sixty yard dash. A primary pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch. All fastballs with a full and whippy arm action and high 3/4 slot. Lots of ride to the pitch and he can move the heater all around the zone with intent. Very good pitchability. A secondary first baseman, good timing and soft hands with better than average footwork in the approach. Short release and accurate to the bases. A right-handed hitter, starts narrow and slightly open with the base with a small stride and grooved path. Balanced throughout with strength to the barrel when timed out front. Excellent student.
