Robert Ballentine is a 2022 RHP/IF, OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Crown Point, IN who attends Andrean. Recorded a 7.32 second 60 yard dash time. Medium frame and lean build. Primary right-handed pitcher with a very short arm action and a high release point, ball jumps out of the hand and gets on you quick. Likes to challenge up in the zone and gets swings and misses up there consistently, also showed the ability to spot at knees. Uses a long stride down the mound with drop and drive lower half mechanics. Clean and simple operation, repeats the delivery well, commanded it very well during his outing and had an efficient inning, nice showing overall. Secondary infielder, fields it out front with two hands and a clean funnel to the center. Turns the hips and circles it well, shows some feel for the glove and can read the hops. Works through the ball with good footwork, short arm action with some zip across at 83 mph, developing accuracy. Right-handed hitter with a wide base and small leg lift trigger. Loads deep into an arm bar, high hand set with a high finish. Shows quick hands and present bat speed, made loud contact to the pull side, looks to connect out in front. Excellent student.
