Mason Johnston is a 2023 RHP/3B, MIF, OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Morgan City, LA who attends Berwick. Solid two-way potential. On the mound, up-tempo delivery with quick arm speed. Drops down to throw from a lower slot at times and drops lower half down before release. His fastball was up to 88 and plays well at the top of the zone. Spins a tight curveball that generated some swing and miss with it. Shorter arm action in the field. Throws stay low and and has soft hands on grounders. Has a strength based swing in the box. Some feel for the barrel with a wide base and short load pre-pitch. His highest exit velocity was 84 MPH. Excellent student.
