Jack Davila is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Bellmore, NY who attends Wellington C Mepham. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, begins with a side step moving into a leg lift up past belt with a hip turn at top, gets tall on backside and strides online down the mound; works to an extended three-quarters release point with some effort at release. Creates a tough angle against lefthanded hitters, topped out at 77 mph and generates subtle life to the pitch, projects with incorporation of lower half into delivery. Pitched to contact, mixed a short breaking ball, tends to slow arm action at release. Good pickoff move too, controls body and sells the move well. Fields the ball out front in the outfield, shorter and compact arm action in back, gets uphill at times with release, short stride through the ball, tall release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with a bent knee stance. Gets closed moving into contact, pull side approach and hits the ball out front, linear path through the zone, shows some bat speed, opens front side early in swing. Good student.
