Kadin Angel is a 2021 C/RHP, UT with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Pana, IL who attends Pana. Medium frame with a lean build and longer limbs. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a balanced stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with smooth paced footwork. Quick exchanges across chest and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 70 mph. Best workout pop time of 2.20. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing clean footwork while working to and through the baseball. Funnels off to side and worked through exchange well. Released from a compact high three-quarters arm slot producing some on line carry to the bag at 74 mph. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Looser hand path to contact and employed a line drive barrel plane though extension. Primarily looked to work the ball to the middle of the field and opposite field gap. Also pitched showing a side step to higher leg lift delivery. Created slight hip turn at gather and released from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated solid downhill tilt through the zone in the mid 70's, topped at 76 mph. Curveball showed 12/6 shape with solid spin and occasional late depth in the mid 60's. Also showed a straight changeup offering in the upper 60's. Displayed good feel for all three offerings to the bottom quadrants of the zone. Good student as well.
