Johnny Ray is a 2025 OF/LHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Blowing Rock, NC who attends Watauga. Very lean and athletic frame with room to add more strength as he continues to progress. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, quick build up to the ball with choppier steps at the end through fielding it, solid angles to it, visually comfortable i the grass, full arm swing to higher release, definite feel for the spot that projects even more with some overall refinements to the process. Secondary left-handed pitcher, full wind up from the third base side of the rubber, quick build up to chest high leg lift and some tilt away from balance point, very quick paced operation, sets hands at the letters and breaks into medium inline arm path, lower three-quarters angle, strike thrower, repeats the delivery, up to 82-mph on the four seam, flashed a mid 60's vertical curveball with developing shape, slider had good plane and late horizontal bite to it. Left-handed hitter, very wide base with slightly closed feet, high hands and high back elbow, knee lift trigger, hands stay in the slot, level and direct approach to this, line drive oriented stroke. Some solid swings in game that produced barrels but did not fall, looked comfortable on the bump and showed general athleticism and traits that project to the next level. Outstanding student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
