John Leo Masi is a 2024 C/2B, 3B, SS, IF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Forest Hills, NY who attends Xavier. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.18 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, turned start behind the plate during drills, receives the ball out front, longer transfer into a full arm action, arm works through the backside, gets tall at release and can continue to implement additional lower half into actions. Deliberate footwork in the infield, clean actions, gets to an over-the-top slot at release, shows accuracy across with developing arm strength. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow stance and a lower hand set at the plate, longer stride moving into contact. Loads hands deep at start of swing, comfort working to the pull side and looks to lift at the point of contact. Shows some present feel for the barrel and projects with added strength. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
