2023 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Jonas Molinar is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Carlsbad, NM who attends Carlsbad. As a primary SS, Molinar displayed full strides to the baseball with clean backhands and intent to change arm slots up the middle. Accuracy should continue to refine as the arm action becomes more consistent across the diamond. Topped out at 74 mph. On the mound, he utilized a compact operation with intent to get in on the hands to righties and produce jammed weak contact. He displayed a whippy low 3/4 slot with some natural movement in the arsenal, the breaker with 11-5 shape and vertical depth present when on top. Topped out at 80 mph. Offensively, the righty started from an even base with intent to work the middle/opposite field. He settled into his round well with a repeatable bat path and looseness to the hands. Posted an exit velo of 78 mph. Ran a 7.79 sixty yard dash. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
