2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Hom is a line drive hitter who showed us good ability on both sides of the ball. He has a good build at 6 foot and 185 pounds and used an upright stance with a good swing producing consistent line drives and some power in the middle of the field. He is a stationary hitter who sent a few balls to the wall in a hurry and showed good plate coverage without chasing pitches out of the strike-zone. His glove also showed as a good tool. He had soft hands and nice actions. At times he was slightly low in his arm slot but made the plays and proved that his glove is a good one. He lacked foot-speed and arm strength by looking at the numbers but seeing him in person made us realize that he plays the game well and has an impressive bat. Excellent student.
