Shelton Whigham is a 2024 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-11 167 lb. frame from Roswell, GA who attends Roswell. Medium build with some present strength. Left handed hitter, starts from a straight stance with a high back elbow load, is short to the ball with some extension out front, simple and well timed approach that he repeated well and consistently found barrels, looking to pull the ball, flashed some carry on balls in the air. 7.14 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has athletic actions around the bag with some quickness and balance, gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws. Also worked out in the outfield, playable there but more athletic at first. Also pitched, works from a full windup from the third base side of the rubber, high leg lift over the rubber, long stride out front with a high 3/4's arm slot, stays on line well. Fastball topped out at 72 mph, mostly straight and thrown for strikes. Curveball was a solid second pitch for him with some spin and depth. Should continue to improve as he gets stronger. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
