David Orellano Ortiz is a 2027 SS/IF, OF with a 4-9 89 lb. frame from Caguas, PR. David is a young, up-and-coming athlete with a solid game based on a sound fundamental approach. He ran a 9.64 60-yard dash. A primary MIF, David has a plus feel for the position. He shows consistent outstanding effort with each trial. He is consistent to field and gets his 53-mph throws off routinely and in rhythm, showing a quicker trigger. At the plate, David uses a contact first approach. He has solid hand-eye coordination, and he contacts the ball consistently well. He holds his hands high at the ready and shows a quick load and release getting his barrel on course and through contact. David has the right idea, and his fundamental approach is commendable and should aide him as he continues to develop his game. With physical maturity, added strength, and game experience, David is sure to see his game grow. His positive body language and attitude are obvious. Great things lie ahead!
