Declan Ryan is a 2023 1B/3B with a 6-4 230 lb. frame from Hooksett, NH who attends Manchester Central. Large frame with a stocky type build showing strength throughout. Ran a 7.76 second sixty yard dash. Primary First Baseman, quickness in the footwork as he worked into it with urgency. Gathers out front and released quickly. Proper footwork around the bag and when turning two. Instincts for the position present. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working into a belt high lift before working down the hill. Uses size to advantage as he gets extended over the front side. Shorter arm stroke as he released from a lower three-quarter slot. Proved to have some command issues due to release point but an easy fix with slight adjustments. Fastball up to 81 mph and dropped in a slider in the mid-70's with bite at times. Right-Handed Hitter, balanced and open to start as he works into a toe tap to stride. Strength in the swing present. Looks to close the front side off and come across the body to generate more bat speed. Big cuts as he looked to drive it deep to the pull-side. Proved he could simplify in games as he drove one on a line to rightfield in games. Also proved to have feel on the paths as he stole third during the action. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
