Danny Flatt Jr. is a 2022 RHP/3B with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Summerville, SC who attends Pinewood Preparatory. Long, lean frame with athletic look and plenty of room to add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher with solid four pitch arsenal and a simple, repeatable delivery. Incorporates length to work down the slope efficiently, while working into a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the low-80s for most of his outing, topping out at 82 mph in this look and flashing both riding life and late sink as he worked deeper into the game. Secondaries are ahead of the fastball right now, showing polish and good spin traits to all three offerings. The curveball showed sharp depth to it's 11-5 shape, while the slider was thrown harder (70 mph) and flashed more lateral break then depth in this look. Both breaking balls are quality at present with good spin rate indicators for the future profile of them. Also mixed in well-replicated changeup with fade that added to the overall polish his secondaries present. Good overall pitching profile that will continue to improve as he adds more velocity and strength. Secondary third-baseman with deliberate actions into and through the fielding process, while showing showing an accurate throwing arm across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 81 mph in infield drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wide, spread stance with a high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Contact oriented swing mechanics with minimal weight shift into contact and a slightly downward swing plane. Opposite field approach with inside-out hand path and developing feel for the barrel. Solid projection remaining on the mound that will continue to improve as he adds strength. Good Student.
