Nikhilesh Mehta is a 2024 SS/RHP, 3B, OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Haddonfield, NJ who attends Episcopal Academy. Large and projectable frame with strength present in his lower half and more room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.99 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield bending at the waist at gather, moves to the ball with short strides, uses a loose arm action and low arm slot into his throws, actions to project on with proper reps. Secondary righthanded pitcher, attacks the zone with a fastball and curveball combination, worked up to 72 mph with the fastball that showed armside run, curveball has 12-6 shape and depth, repeats his mechanics well. Also worked out in the outfield, fields the ball out in front with a sure glove, good footwork and clean release, fluid arm stroke at take back with developing arm strength, projects well in the outfield. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a slightly open stance and a high hand set, uses a leg lift trigger into contact, will improve pop with adjustments to his shift into contact, meets the ball out in front taking loose hands through his swing path, showed a feel for the barrel and worked the ball to all parts of the field during his round of batting practice.
