Juan Almonte is a 2021 C/1B, 3B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from San Juan, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Recorded a 7.71 second 60-yard dash time. Large frame with strength present throughout the build. Primary catcher with a loose arm and rotates well on the exchange. Compact arm slot with good accuracy. Gains ground well with a quick release. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a high three-quarters arm slot and medium arm circle. Belt high leg lift and cuts the fastball with a slow breaking slurve. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set, high back elbow, and a deeper load. Knee to knee weight shift with a downhill swing. Strength in his swing and the ball carries when squared. Great student.
