Collin Harty is a 2023 SS/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Roxbury, CT who attends Shepaug Valley. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a high waist, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, stays low on the approach to the ball, works through the backhand and takes short steps through the ball, tight arm action through the back and works around the bag well with throws, maintains body control with athleticism on charge. Similar tight arm action in the outfield, gets uphill at release, projects with additional lower half into throws, over-the-top release point. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high and set and back elbow at the plate. Upper body dominant swing, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Gets closed moving into contact, looks to lift at point of contact and keeps hands inside the ball while remaining short to the ball, gets onto front side early weight shift. Very good student.
