2022 13U/14U Fall Gulf Coast Showcase
Caleb Simpson is a 2027 RHP/C/1B with a 6-0 159 lb. frame from Hoover, AL who attends Hoover. Nice young athletic build with good strength and plenty of projection. Works from a slow paced leg raise delivery, two-piece arm stroke with a pause in back, lands very closed with his front foot and throws across his body but does a good job of repeating his mechanics and throwing strikes. Primary fastball pitcher, worked up to 78 mph with good running life from an extended 3/4's arm slot, flashed a curveball and change up that will be further developed with use. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a high hand load, downhill swing path due to his hand position, flashed some strength to the middle of the field and created back spin at times. 7.99 runner in the sixty. Worked out at positions all over the field, looked most comfortable at first base where he had good footwork and was comfortable throwing from lower arm slots, will have the arm strength to play third base as well. Named to the 13U/14U Fall Gulf Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
