Cruz Perez JR is a 2025 3B/RHP, 1B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Kansas City, KS who attends Cristo Rey. He has a good frame with a thicker build with present strength. Ran the sixty yard dash in 8.04 seconds. Primary third baseman that showed smooth footwork to both sides of his body. He has longer steps to the ball and stays quicker through it with his lower half. He showed a good feel for the glove and soft hands. He does a nice job of being quick on his transfers and firing to first accurately. Secondary right-handed pitcher that starts on the first base side of the rubber and uses a big side step to start his motion. He utilizes the knee to chest leg kick and creates torque in his motion. He has a medium arm action and fires from a 3/4 slot. His fastball is straighter and has a high spin rate that allows it to hold plane at the top of the zone. His slider has short horizontal break with nice downer action to go with it. His change up has some cutting action through the zone. Right-handed hitter that starts in an open and narrow stance. He uses a toe tap trigger for timing and does a nice job of staying under control at the plate. He has a longer swing that is rotational and looks to use the entire field. Good student.
