Tanner Phillips is a 2025 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Centreville, VA who attends Chantilly. Long and lean frame with broad shoulders and plenty of room to add more physicality in time. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.57 seconds. Primary position IF, working methodically through reps and using calculated foot work and angles to make plays. Accurate with the glove and shows some action, deep funnel and longer transfer to throw. Clean accurate throws across the diamond up to 86 mph and reached 88 mph on reps from the OF. Secondary RHP, working exclusively from the stretch, coming set slightly closed with stationary hands at the belt. Abbreviated leg lift leading to an inverted arm path working offline and works through a 3/4 arm angle. Got better as he went through his outing. FB up to 84 with a bit of cut. Two discernible breakers. SL in the low-70s with late bite tunneled well with heater and bigger vertical CB in the upper-60s that he lands often. RHH working from an open and spread stance, high back elbow and good handset to start. Showed hand quickness and got to impact well as he worked a pull-oriented approach. Emerging power and got better throughout his round. Has feel for the barrel and looks hitterish. Intriguing comprehensive skill set and he is a good student as well. Named to the Coastal Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
