Carter Hayes is a 2026 SS/RHP, UT with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Wesleyan. Recorded a 7.15 second 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a medium frame and lean athletic build. Active footwork with a quick first step working around the ball in the infield. Hands work to both sides with clean funnel to exchange. Accurate throws across the diamond at 80 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher with drop and drive mechanics working directly down the slope. High-belt tucked lift with a high 3/4 arm slot release. Fastball to both sides of the plate up to 79 mph (1941 RPM) and breaking ball with depth at 67 mph (2032 RPM). Flashed a changeup at 69 mph (1630 RPM) for a solid three-pitch mix. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open even base and high hands setup in the box. Short knee-lift trigger stride with direct path to the zone. Compact hand speed working through the middle of the field. Controls the barrel through the zone with increased projectable impact as he matures into his young frame. Excellent student. Named to the Southeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
