2022 PG Softball Winter Scouting Combine - Iowa
Taylor Pitlick is a 5-foot-7, class of 2025 1B/OF from Oxford, IA who attends Williamsburg HS. Taylor is a young, up-and-coming player who has s sold grasp on the fundamentals of the game that should allow her to continue to grow her ability as her career moves forward. In addition to her emerging talent on the field, Taylor is also a standout in the classroom. She ran a 6.19 40-yard dash and was timed at 3.77 from HP to 1B. She also posted a 5'0 1/2" standing broad jump. A primary 1B, Taylor has a confident feel for her defensive ability around the bag. Her footwork is consistent, and she positions with routine effort. She can cover ground and her glove work is smooth and easy. Her arm strength is solid now and will undoubtedly continue to improve. She does unleash throws that are routinely timed at 52-mph. Her throws are consistently accurate. Good foundation at this all too critical position. At the plate, Taylor has the right idea. She starts with a wider base that is fairly even and balanced. She has a great ability to bunt the ball. Her swing path is flat with some lift at contact and when her timing is right, she can impact the ball. There is some gap-to-gap pop in her barrel and an emerging ability to power the softball. Taylor has all the tools to continue climbing the softball ladder. With physical maturity, added strength and agility, and a chance to play at a higher competitive level, Taylor should have the opportunity to play at the next level. Big upside potential!
