Jonathon (JT) Files is a 2008 C with a 6'0'', 200 lb. frame from Mesquite, TX who attends Poteet. Jonathan has a good build with a thick toned lower half, and some strength present in his upper body as well. He runs well, and exceptionally well for a catcher, turning in a 7.08 sixty during the workout. Behind the plate he has good mechanics and is a max effort thrower with a good finish. He has arm strength with a quick transfer, and had a 1.93 pop time and a top velocity of 75 mph. At the plate he uses his strong lower half to get leverage, and has good hads. He has a quiet compact swing and shows some pop. He seemed to be a little off on his timing, but still had effective at bats. He hits from a low hand set and generates good contact. He is a good character guy who plays the game with a lot of enthusiasm. Jonathan is also a good student.
