Diego Velazquez is a 2025 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-2 219 lb. frame from Temple, TX who attends Lake Belton High School. Large frame with a fairly physical build. Ran a 7.63 second 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, very active mover with quick lateral movements, presets the glove and fields it clean in mid-body, quick turns into a compact release, arm works well and threw in the mid-70s across. Also pitches, methodically paced delivery with balanced in the lower half, shorter arm stroke pitching in the upper-70s, can get across his body at times and showed feel for a pair of secondaries in a mid-60s breaking ball and changeup. Right-handed hitter, very short and strong stroke, brakes hard after impact and cuts himself off a bit but still can create lift and strength, flashed plenty of jump off the barrel when squared to the pull side. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
